Continuing my sad obsession with Zombies, I thought I would post a few fun links to help you celebrate the “living challenged” this Halloween.
Learn Zombie Rules from the movie “Zombieland”:
“Zombieland” was a funny movie from 2009, starring Jessie Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson as survivors of the Zombie Apocalypse that are making their way across country together. The main character has put together a list of “rules to survive the Zombies“, which include gems like:
- Always wear a seatbelt
- When in doubt, know your way out
- It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Unless it’s a sprint, then it’s a sprint
- Beware of bathrooms
The movie is rated “R” for language and violence, so view with caution. But if you want a laugh, be sure to check out the “Zombieland Rules“. Who knows – it might just help you with your preps!
Remove the head, or destroy the brain
Another hilarious Zombie movie (despite the sheer volume of foul language) is “Shaun of the Dead”, starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. In the trailer clip below, Shaun learns some important tips for dealing with Zombie’s from the SkyNews anchor Jeremy Thompson:
Need Recipes: check out these inspired by “The Walking Dead”
I mentioned in my last post how addicted I’ve become to the AMC series “The Walking Dead”? It’s really started to grow on me, and not just in a creepy, zombie virus sort of way. Well, the Cooking Channel also is in love with the show, and have whipped up a few “Walking Dead” inspired dishes that are fit to grace any Halloween table.
You also get a great preview of the Season 3 premiere episode “Seed”. The recipe link does contain spoilers, so beware!! But if you would love to get recipes like “Farm in a Blanket” or “Spicy Pepitas”, check out their list of Walking Dead dishes today!
Run for your lives – Obstacle Course
Finally, if you want to follow Zombieland rule #1 – “Cardio”, then consider enrolling in a local obstacle course race. The “Run for your Lives” races obstacle course races pit you against flesh eating Zombies who are out to get you. It’s a little like “Flag Football” meets “Zombie Apocalypse”. You run the obstacle course wearing flags, and try to avoid the Zombies out to get you. If they grab your flag – you are out of the race. Guess it’s better than eating you alive, right? It’s fun, and good for you, so check it out.
Well – that’s it for my Zombie fest. I promise in the next post to get back to regular every day prepping!
