Originally this site was going to house all of my recipes and emergency preparedness tips. But along the way my site crashed and I lost nearly everything.
Flash forward to 2018, and I’m setting my goals for the year. I have determined that this year I will restart my weight loss journey. So I signed up for six months of Weight Watchers Online program, and am throwing myself into the new Freestyle program!
So why not use my “Pilgrim’s Pantry” blog to talk about my weight loss journey?
Here I will share my weight loss tips, struggles, recipes, reviews, motivation, setbacks, and more. I hope you choose to join my on my journey!
My Before Pictures
Here is my “Before” picture, taken at church this past Sunday:
I signed up for Weight Watchers Online program today (January 10, 2018). My starting weight was 336, as taken at work for my biometric screening (required for our health plans).
Now – it’s not as bad as my highest weight, which was 350 pounds about 15 years ago. But it’s a long way from my best weight as an adult, which was 175 pounds in college.
My Initial Goals for 2018
When you are facing a weight loss challenge of over 160 pounds, it’s hard to think about the finish line at all. It’s too overwhelming! So I have set myself some realistic short and medium term goals for 2018:
- Double my fruit and vegetable intake (try to get to 6-10 per day)
- Double my time at the gym (two times per week or more)
- Lose 10% of my body weight (34 pounds)
- Track my food daily (on the Weight Watchers App)
I will eventually add more goals as I reach these, but I think this is enough to start with. If you set too many goals, you end up overwhelmed and drop most of them. But I think I can manage these four.
